This book is about a triangle who visits a shape shifter. Throughout the story the triangle tries different shapes and experiences. Having additional sides and angles. In the end the Triangle goes back to his original form. This book is great for students in many ways, the first being it is very informative in different shapes. The other reason is that it teaches students to be happy with your own shape and trying to be something that you are not. ( )

(illustration) In this book, a triangle keeps going back to a shapeshifter trying to change his shape. Each time, he adds another side, but this doesn’t make him happy. In the end, he realizes he actually liked being a triangle and changes back to his original shape. I liked the illustrations and the message of the book. I think this is a good book to read to children because it teaches self-acceptance. The book has colorful illustrations throughout the story and shows the different shapes the triangle turns into. These pictures can help children engage with the story.

I really enjoyed this book for both its surface-level educational value and the way in which it explored more complex themes as a children book. THE GREEDY TRIANGLE tells the story of a triangle wanting to be more, so it visits a shapeless shapeshifter (a quality detail that I absolutely adored) that transformed it into a quadrilateral, then a pentagon, and further on. The story addresses the saying "the grass is greener on the other side", The triangle, after adding another side, would eventually still become dissatisfied after a while. The story introduces not only individuality, but also the principal of "less is more". As a triangle, it could be so many things as the shape is very involved in architecture and design. In the end, it is happy to return back to its normal 3-sided shape and is very content with that. ( )

The greedy triangle can be a sailboat, fit in the crook of people's arms, or be a support structure. But when this gets boring, they ask a shapeshifter for another side and another angle. This goes on and on throughout the book, until the triangle has up to nine sides! I liked this book because it taught properties of shapes through story. Students who struggle with geometry and math, but like reading, would benefit from this book. ( )

A greedy triangle is unhappy with his 3 sides and shape shifts into every shape you can imagine, but loses his sense of self and his friends along the way. This is the perfect book to introduce a lesson on shapes or geometry. It allows students to predict what shape the triangle will turn into next as well as give examples of everyday objects of the shape he turns into, allowing students to form connections. It also teaches a lesson about the importance of being yourself and staying true to who you are. Overall, I think this book could be a fun opener in any grade level to get kids thinking about shapes and their characteristics. ( )
