The first story was good but the second one - Once Upon A Christmas Eve - is by far one of my favorite Christmas stories ever! Just delightful! I would love to see it made into a Hallmark movie :-) ( )

Two short stories that are a delight to read. They are both centered around towns that put you in the Christmas spirit; Mistletoe, Kentucky, and then Noel, Missouri. I liked both stories, but "Once Upon a Christmas Eve" was without a doubt my favorite.

"An Appalachian Christmas" takes place shortly after World War II and to quote a section of the book (which really explains the story), "Julia hadn't had a preconceived notion of what she would find in Mistletoe, but in her wildest imaginings, she had never expected any of this! In the past two days she'd been stranded in the middle of a muddy creek and rescued by a handsome mountaineer, who had stirred her emotions as no man ever had. Then the man she'd traveled hundred of miles to see had threatened to kill her. She'd been accepted like family by a mountain woman and her son, and she'd been confronted with local customs that were fifty years behind the outside world's. She felt as far removed from her normal lifestyle as if she'd suddenly landed on the moon. What else might happen to her before she left Mistletoe?" Well you will need to read the book to find out.

"Once Upon a Christmas Eve" was one of those feel good stories. The back cover of the book says it best: "Holly Goodnight's store has just been voted best Christmas shop in America. All the publicity draws flamboyant novelist Van Keaton to the cozy town of Noel, Missouri, demanding to write Holly's story - a dramatic tale of misfortune and triumph. She is swept up in his world of beautiful words. . . until Owen Quigly, her lifelong best friend, launches a plan to win her back." I adored Owen and Holly and their friendship and how Owen works his magic to make Holly see that they are more than just friends. A classic romance story. Sit back and cozy up to two stories that will warm your heart. ( )

Two Christmas stories come together in the book When Love Finds You Under the Mistletoe, one from the past and one from the present.

Julia Mayfield as a wish to her dieing sister is taking her nephew to see the grandparents that he never knew. Dealing with 2 year olds isn't something Julia is good with after spending some time in World War II. Figuring she can do this wish for her sister, then move on with her life and write the book she eagerly awaits to write about her war adventures. The grandparents are too distraught over the death of their son that they will not even acknowledge that their grandson is who Julia says he is. She just wants to get out of this backwoods hollar and get back to society, when her parents throw a wrench in her return plans, causing Julia to stay through Christmas. Love of family and friends grows on Julia in KY, will she ever be able to leave this hollar again?

The second story is a modern day tale of Holly, an abandoned infant on Christmas Eve. Adopted by Christmas store owner Mr. Goodnight, Holly leads a happy and joyful life with her 'father'. A writer gets wind of her story of abandonment and wants to write a novel about her. Holly feels that maybe it is time to come to grips with her past and agrees. The author, Van falls for Holly as he is writing the story. What does best friend and childhood playmate Owen feel about that?

Both stories have love under the mistletoe, and Julia is Holly's great aunt in the story that ties them together. Sweet stories of Christmas love! Wholesome and good ( )

What a wonderful addition to the beautiful Love Finds You collection, and just in time for the holidays too! I am so thankful to review this book for both the authors, and for CFBA. Both Anita Higman and Irene Brand are incredible authors, whom captivate their readers instantly, with their words and plots.

Love Finds You Under the Mistletoe is a 2 book novella, with both a historical story and a contemporary story. The first novel, An Appalachian Christmas by Irene Brand, takes us to the the World War II era. Her characters, Julia, David, Granny and sweet little Bobby, were fascinatingly created to capture my heart immediately! The sparks that flew between Julia and David were electrifying! There was no denying the love there. Irene added suspense to the story with secrets from the past. Added to the history, mystery and love is a strong message of fully trusting in God's will and leaning on His understanding always. Fantastic!!!

Once Upon A Christmas Eve by Anita Higman is also wonderful! Anita Higman is one of my favorite authors, and I love each and every one of her stories. This one did not disappoint. I felt the instant tug into the story, and fell in love with Noel, Missouri. I loved Holly and Quig. They were just adorable characters and fit so well together! I had so much fun imaging the Christmas in Noel, Missouri and walking beside these two fantastic characters and sharing a beautiful holiday with them. God's love shined through the words Anita used to create this story, and the lessons shone through. Definitely a story I want to read again and again.

Deck the halls with Holly and Mistletoe, and grab your copy of this tender, charming novella. It's a 5 star book that will make a perfect relaxing end to any winter day. Or it would make a wonderful Christmas gift for those book lovers in your life! Well done and two thumbs up these amazing authors!

*Many thanks to the authors for providing a copy of this book for me to review* ( )
