This book is great for introducing how zero can be added to counting numbers to help expand what the students already know. It is also great because it shows how the number zero was shaming herself until she found out her usefulness. It can be used when you start teaching the 6th or 7th about integers and rational numbers. ( ) This book was fun and very interesting to read. I would read this story to the kids because I know they'll enjoy it. Also, they'll understand and learn the value of numbers. This story is about the number zero. Zero feels worthless because he's not counted with the other numbers. Color is involved to depict how zero feels about other numbers and itself. Zero attempts to be other numbers but discovers it can be happy by being itself because it can be counted in numbers like 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 100, etc. Zero serves a purpose in the number world. I believe the theme is acceptance because zero finally accepts that it's counted in other numbers like 100, 200, 300, 400, etc. Zero is a sweet story about the number Zero. Zero never felt like he fit in, because he was not like the other numbers. All the other numbers stood up or sat down differently than Zero. This made Zero sad and lonely. When Zero's other number friends realize that he has value too, all of the numbers realize that they only increase one another's value. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse

Zero, dismayed by her big, empty, roundness, tries to force herself into the shape of the much-admired One, but must finally accept that she can only be Zero. No library descriptions found. |
