- "The Rideau branch has the atmosphere of a heritage library with all the modern conveniences. One of the older libraries in the city, the Rideau branch is close to shopping and restaurants in the Byward Market and the Rideau Street corridor. The branch was opened in 1934 by former Prime Minister Sir Robert Borden and has maintained its old world charm." (OPL website)
