This group seems to be on vacation, so I thought I'd liven things up a bit. I recently heard on NPR (http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=129251388&ft=1&f=1032) that the Percy Jackson and the Olympians books have spawned a series of summer camps for children where they learn mythology and act out stories. Sounds like lots of fun. My daughter regularly attends a camp called Wayfinder that does LARP (she's there now running a game she wrote.) I'm afraid my only experience has been through her. Anyone else out there indulge? What's been your experience?

When I was a kid in the 1950's, there were three of us who occasionally play-acted Jupiter, Neptune, and Pluto. Sometimes, one us would try out Apollo. I was about 9 years old. Unfortunately, I don't remember our story lines, and we never checked in with our parents on what we did.

Never did LARPing, but I play and GM for PNP games. Currently I run Rifts and will be running Nightbane soon. Most GMs I've played with use a fair dose of mythology and my campaign's very deep in it. We have a daughter of Zeus, a servant of Asherah, and a demon that crossed Thoth once among the PCs.
