I have a tiny office that has piles of books here, there and everywhere. The two book shelves are full, books behind books, books under books and that are so tightly squeezed it that I may never be able to pry them out without spilling the whole lot.
When purchasing or getting a book or two I don't think that I have bought all that much untill I get home and have to find a home for these new books.
My challenge is to take a book from the shelf and replace it with a book that hasn't spent anytime on the shelf. Sounds like a plan, doesn't it? Let's see how well I do.
Seeing that I usually read about 50 books a year, and I am starting this in June my goal is 16. At this point I have read 17 books which leaves me 33 left to go. Half of 33 is 16.5.
Keep your fingers crossed for me. This is my first time trying this challenge.

Hi Jacqueline, welcome, can't wait to see what gems you are going to discover on your shelves.

I found a tiny gem tucked away on my shelf on top of some bigger novels this one could have been easily missed. Street of Riches by Gabrielle Roy
It's a short book with many stories inside of a young girl's growing up on a quiet street in Manitoba. I have always enjoy stories of children. That could be because I was an only child and wasn't around children very much.
I didn't write down anywhere when I got this book. I am going to guess sometime in 2007. That sounds about right. What is a nice surprise is that I have already read one of Gabrielle Roy's books already, The Tin Flute. That was a very enjoyable book and I have a good feeling that this one will be too.

Welcome! The hardest part of this challenge is not adding to our collections because of recommendations. Have fun!
