Anyone have any experience with this? I'm considering getting a kindle only to access the web with while out and about. Mostly just checking LT & BM prior to buying at thrift shops which have no wifi nearby.

Would it work? Is there a better option?

IMHO, it won't work well, if at all. Net access on the Kindle is extremely slow, and that's if you get it at all. A better option would be cell phone web access, although personally I find that hard to do with such a small screen. Or a wireless card in your laptop.

I would strongly advise against it. Kindle net access is limited and slow, and pictures, if you need those, don't display well.

iPad, if you want to pay the money for 3G, or a cell phone, as someone else said. Those would be infinitely better than the kindle. I love my kindle, but the interface of the experimental browser is just too slow.
