Greenville, SC! Welcome!

Thanks Bookishbunny! I've just been to the RSC in Stratford this week to see an Arabic version of 'Richard III'. It was fantastic, really clear in terms of its narrative and just made me realise how Shakespeare really did write his plays to stand the test of time.

That sounds AMAZING, dramateach! Was it actually the RSC, or an Arabic company brought to Stratford by them? Is this part of their yearlong Shakespeare mega-extravanganza? Have you seen any other parts of that project?
I must admit that my year so far has been painfully untheatrical - the only thing I have seen on stage so far was "Twelfth Night on Twelfth Night" at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC (a staged reading). Anyone else?

I just got cast as Margot in Dial M for Murder. Yippie and about time! It's been two months since my last play closed.
On a less 'about me' note, I absolutely loathe Romeo & Juliet (okay, that's a little about me), but one of my best friends is Juliet in the local production, so I'm quite excited to see it.

Okay dramateach, I have to ask, did Richard III look like Osama or like Dublya.

He did look a little like Osama. Was very much brought into the modern context! Such a clear story though and very interesting concept. All backed by Arabic musicians and a big computer screen where Buckingham kept in touch with richard by email!
