Between semesters I am researching a 1920/21 strike Newport Kentucky where the National Guard was sent in to ‘stop the violence’. The first link is to a picture of the National Guard tank that was sent to the city crushing stills. The second link is to a photo of what I think is the same design tank in a completely unrelated setting. Can anyone identify make / model of the machine?

Thanks and if anything ever comes of this project I will be sure to credit the historians on LibraryThing.

I'm no tank expert but that looks rather like an M1917 or M1917A1 http://mailer.fsu.edu/~akirk/tanks/ Here is a web site I found which may help you. From the link scroll down the list of flags on the LHS and click on the USA flag, then scroll down the page 'til you find this one, it is a licensed version of the Renault apparently. Good luck.

Thank you, it does look like it must be one of the M1917s. That should make my research a little easier.
