Beginning January 29, students from around the world can examine the
rich tradition of Southern literature and culture in the United States
from slavery to the present in a new Harvard Extension School online
course, ENGL E-175 Southern Literature and Culture in the United States.
Co-taught by John Stauffer, PhD, Professor of English and of African and
African American Studies, Harvard University and Jason W. Stevens, PhD,
Assistant Professor of English, Harvard University, the course consists
of recorded lectures from the Harvard Faculty of Arts and Sciences
course English 173, recorded for viewing online through streaming video
by Harvard Extension School students. Students receive the same course
materials and assessments as in the original course. For more
