With these two authors, Julian Stockwin and Dewey Lambdin only releasing once a year, how many more years before the tales of their heros are finished.
Kydd is only now going to Trafalgar, so do we have ten more years to wait to wade through the rest of the Napoleonic wars with him...

If I recall, Stockwin has said that he plans a series of 20 books for the Kydd series. Note, I'm not 100% certain of that number, but it seems correct. I recall being pretty surprised when I read it because (a) the author's age (b) the rate it takes for a book to hit the shelves and (c) the idea that the audience would stick around for it.
If he manages it -- and the series holds my interest -- great.

My interest flagged a little with the Admiral's daughter Love may be love, and Kydd may have started naive, but by the time he is commanding a king's ship, flirting with an Admiral's daughter and then jilting her in a matter of days is the sure signs to killing your career. Something that society then wouldn't tolerate, and as the road to society was the road of service, it would seem that he would have to have decided somewhere in the jilting, that he would be giving up his career and settling for being a fishing boat captain, or some such. (Even a pariah like a full time slaver captain which he didn't like already.)
