I'm in Brooklyn, so for me "musical theater" means 'Broadway', including the Off- and Off-Off- varieties. But where do the others here get their fix?

It must be wonderful to live so close to Broadway. But I bet it is also expensive. I have to make do with mostly community theater. We have two outdoor theaters in the the summer and a performing arts center in town that has a big theater and two smaller theaters that usually have something going on every weekend. Also we are lucky to have a really big auditorium that is part of a major university. That is were we get all the touring companies of the Broadway shows. The only problem I have is the expense. I don't get out to many shows for this reason. Both my daughters are active in theater. They were both in shows in one of the outdoor theaters this summer. That kind of gets me my fix.

I'm in the Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania. New York City is just over an hour away. We go to Broadway all the time. But there is also a TON of good community theatre in the area, not to mention a number of great college productions. We boast Muhlenberg's Summer Theatre and the PA Shakespeare Festival. Also, between PA and NY, there are some great regional theatres in NJ.
