I've just finished The Stone Diaries by Carol Shields the winner for 1995 and I thought it was an amazing account of a woman's life. The book reads like an autobiography with a selection of photos included to give an aura of authenticity. I loved the use of letters, recipes, gardening tips and the different points of view that take the reader on a journey through Daisy Goodwill's life. It was a quick and easy read but I'd give the book a 4 star rating. Has anyone else read it?
