No, thank you for participating.

Finally! Someone who allows me to care that I have 372 ultb, and have given a new acronym into the lexicon of LT. I can't believe I only now have discovered this group!
4DaynaRT
Thanks, indeed. This group certainly makes it easier to find books that need to be combined. ;)
5sarahemmm
Heh, fleela - I think I still have about 70 singletons, so I'm sure you will be able to combine a good many of them!
6misericordia
4> So is there, an unofficial completion among combiner to be the person with the most works combined? Which would put you in third place ;)

I wouldn't know. I don't look at the zeitgeist.

I'm with fleela -- somehow combining singletons is even more satisfying when people are gloating about their bad data than when they just hadn't noticed an orphan.

Gloating? Bragging not Gloating. As if it was such a serious thing.
Hmm aren't you commenting on contributors to our group and not their content.

I don't think noting that you're bragging (if you prefer that word) about obscurity is a personal insult -- it is, after all, the entire reason for the group to exist, no?

10> Well I do prefer the word brag since it is more of a boast or prideful comment. Where as gloat is speak with excessive, often smug or malicious, satisfaction. I have updated the group description and would be happy to speak to anyone you feel has been gloating.
You seem to be a very busy person in LT. You probably do lot to make it a better place. So please cruise the ultb tag correcting and combining away.
But, please keep your negative comments about being "even more satisfying when people are gloating" out of this group. I could change the group to private but have no desire to do that. Of course I have no power to keep you out. So this is simple up to you.
To prevent this group thread from descending into more pointless discuss, please feel free to contact me directly through my private comments with any other concerns you have.

I am always on the lookout for orphan ultb's in my library which indeed do have siblings, so to speak. I don't mind if my ultb's get combined, so Lorax and others, combine away if you find any.
Has this been addressed yet: what about owning twin orphans?
Should I not list them as ultb's, even if I'm the only LTer with copies? I have several sets of these in my library, and I've listed them with the ultb tag.

12>Agreed, I've been trying to clean up books which were actually unique when entered but may have acquired ghostly siblings since, but it's a big job. Help is welcomed.
12>I also have duplicate and triplicate copies of some books -- some which show up as unique on LT because I have one entry tagged "3 copies" or "1 English, 1 Chinese" -- but some of which show up as shared books because I entered the English and French editions and combined them!

I think if you are the only person with the 20,000 copies of a book. It is still ultb. Unless you published it yourself. In that case send me a copy and I'll catalog it! But then it won't be ultb. Ah rule 22, my favorite.
Serious ly I think you're ultb with multiple copies of a singleton or orphan book.

I think I am buying into this. I have just tagged the 90 books that show no other owners in my library.

Wow, you have some interesting stuff.
I am shocked that more people don't have acopy of Hawaii criminal and traffic law manual I mean what with our President elect being from there.
However, you have this item,
The Complete Poems Of John Milton - Vol. 4 listed as being by Harvard Classic. Is it by John Milton? Or are there commentaries included.
Welcome to the group all the same.

Neat group - I was surprised to see myself on the list! Thanks for your efforts misericordia.
Of course, once I checked on the status of my little orphans, it went from 13 back to 11. But, I have lots and lots of cataloging to do yet, so perhaps I will get the number back up again, at least temporarily.
