I've just booked my ticket for the Persephone lecture.the website says...
'Professor Elaine Showalter will talk about ‘The Home-maker and the Home-Wrecker: Dorothy Canfield Fisher, Susan Glaspell, and 20th Century American Women Writers’. Her new book about American women writers will be published in 2009.'
£20 a ticket, which seems a little bit steep. I'm hoping that there will be free drinks and nibbles for that price!
Is anyone else going?
(apologies is this has been discussed on another thread - I couldn't see it anywhere)
(and apologies for the terrible spelling mistake in the topic title!!!)

Charbutton, I wish I lived in England so I could go!!! Canfield Fisher is one of my favorite writers and I have recently become interested in Glaspell as well. I will be watching for this book, hoping that since it is about two American writers, it will be available here.
Maybe you can have a Persephone meet-up at the lecture!

I'm really looking forward to it. I've heard Elaine Showalter speak before and found her very enjoyable.
It's shame that non-UK LTers will miss out. Maybe we can persuade the Persephone ladies to do a podcast of the talk!

Perhaps we need to petition the publisher and/or host of the event re: the podcast idea (which is brilliant!!)
