Kindle names

I looked, but didn't see anything like this. If I somehow missed it, I beg pardon from one and all.

I was wondering what names you have given your Kindles and how/why you chose them.

Mine is called Marius. He (can't think of it as an "it") is named for one of Anne Rice's vampires, Marius de Romanus. This is one of my favorite literary characters, but that wasn't quite a good enough reason, or I might have named it "Darcy", "Neville", or "Tumnus". :)

I settled on Marius because he loves books, reading, and writing, but also is fascinated by the technologies of each new age as it comes about. Since the vampire Marius is a little more than 2,000 years old, he's seen quite a bit. The combination of receiving books over the airwaves on a reader was just too perfect a match.

I don't have a name for my kindle, but what a great idea - I am getting very close to it!! do others name their kindle???????

I have named my kindle - Merriweather (the blue fairy from Sleeping Beauty) - not because of the reading aspect, but that she tries to make things her own, but ultimately either makes a huge mess of it or gets shut down by her elders.

Merriweather was my favorite of the three fairies!! That's an adorable name! :D

I have a tendency to feminize things I name...cars, etc. So I chose Miz Kindle for mine.

I just call my miracle devise KIN. He seems to recognize his name. My DH is envious of his old techie wife. Ha!

My Kindle is named Bartimaeus from one of my favorite books, The Amulet of Samarkand by Jonathan Stroud. Like the Bartimaeus in the book, my Kindle can leap high buildings and store a whole library of books in a small space.

I named mine Abby, after a character from NCIS, because of one of her lines: "I hug and kiss technology!"

Mine is simply referred to as Kindle...

I know, it's boring. But I have the only one in the house, so it works...

Mine is called Miz Kindle ( I have a habit of pronouncing inanimate objects, such as cars, Miz) and, like my two cats, she never comes when I call her!

My wife is telling me I should call it Reid...
