Does your dog have a nickname or just answer to something else?

Dolly (5), our golden Retriever answers to "Yellow".
Jenny (2), the black lab also gets called "tids" - she is probably the smallest (allegedly pedigree) black lab in the world and this has been shortened from when I called her "tiddler".
My springer spaniel Maggie (9), for some peculiar reason that I can't remember now is also known as "puppywoos" (also my trading name on Amazon!) - yes I know its not cool.

Hattie the flat coat(2) is as yet nickname free although I do call her "Hattie-Pattie".

A previous black lab called Damson was often called "Thumper" because of the noise her tail made.

Those with 2 names seem to answer to either and don't seem to mind.

Is anyone else as idiotic as me?

Greta Garbo also answers to Stilts because as a puppy she had long legs, well she still does, and the neighbor started calling her Stilts and it stuck. Greta thinks Stilts is the name for when she gets 'Nilla Cookies, a special time.

Nicky - I call him Nicky Picky, or Picky Nicky, Nickster, Nick nick nick. Or Puppy. He of course is the oldest in the house.

I don't know what they call me.

Boru will answer to any of the following:

Bo
Bo-bo
Boruzle
Roodog
Big Pig
Piggy
Piglet

He actually seems to like Piggy best of all, since it's usually associated with food.

Wow what a selection. I'll have to think of some more for ours to keep up. DH does call Jenny "Pesky" sometimes and she doesn't seem to mind.
Not sure I'd like to be called Tuxbut or Little Fat dog though.

It's a good job they can't understand us - or can they....?

Keekeebeekee BooKoo,KooBooand MooKoo, Keekaroni,Kees and my husband calls her Nike with the stress on the ke. Nylons is Ny, Nyny, Missy Ny, Moose, Moose-moose and M-M-M-Moose. My kids think it is a riot when I call them in from our yard because the progression of names goes from all the cutesy names to Boston Elizabeth(not her middle name)Kaia! and Ny! for god's sake get in here before I beat you bloody! For some reason I give the dog's a middle name (mine and my daughter's) when they are in trouble in the same way you do with your kids when they are in trouble. Our cat Miles is Mimi,Milester,Mileovich,Mileseroni,MyMy, and Joe Willy for Joe Namath because he has white feet. This is my husband's sports story, something about the white sneakers, I don't know! Thank you for pointing out how utterly ridiculous we humans can be over our pets. They are clearly a stress reliever for us. God bless them, everyone!

My dogs don't really have nicknames, but we still call Llawen and Frodo "the puppies" even though they're 5 years old. Llawen is a Welsh name so there is some Welsh way to say it, but it's really weird so we just say it simply. We call the three of them doggies or hounds. The corgis are also referred to as bad dogs. Sometimes I call Llawen Llaw-Llaw and Frodo Fro-Fro. LOL, that's about it.

> 4 I don't know what they call me.

I bet Annie refers to me as the "Cheese Queen". So, Maggie, you must be the "Cookie Queen"?

Sadly, the Cookie Queen was my neighbor lady and two sad things: she recently passed away, and two, the vet made me stop feeding my schnauzers anything but low fat food or vegetables. I am the Carrot Princess! They both come if I call Carrots!

Luckily, the Cook Queen's consort, Daddy neighbor guy is still around and plays with the pups so they don't feel totally bereft.
