What are AC fan's opinion of this book ?

I really didn't like it!

I was able to finish reading it, but when I did ... I felt like it had been a big waste of time :P

I loved this book and also the movie with Hywel Bennet, Hayley Mills and Britt Ekland.

It seemed to me to be a departure from Christie's normal detective fiction, (meaning the detective, the murder, the suspects, the murderer). In fact I found it to be more psychological which I always enjoy.

I think it was one of Christie's own favourites too.

Have you tried Death Comes As The End that's a little different too.

I enjoyed it, but I can see what you why you might not like it. I like that she experimented now and then with something different.

I was surprised by how Gothic this book felt, sort of like Rebecca. I enjoyed it and I think she did an excellent job of holding my interest even though the crimes didn't occur until late in the story.

I like it actually - mostly for being different. If you expect a normal Christie, you most likely won't like it. And if you expect it to change to a normal Christie at the end after being something quite different for the whole book, you probably will be disappointed. But the language and the way some things are said is the same and it's easily recognizable as one of her books...

In my humble opinion, I think 'Endless Night' is the real masterpiece of Agatha Christie. Especially because it's a 'late Christie'.

I agree that it's well written, with effective narration and a good twist. But I also agree with wonderlake: I didn't like this book. I didn't like the tone of that narration and didn't like any of the characters.
