Elizabeth Sladen's character Sarah Jane Smith has always been one of my All-Time Favourite DOCTOR WHO Companions. I think it is long over due that she finally get her own tv series. I have also seen the tv commericals saying it is coming to the Sci-Fi Channel on April 18th. I can't wait to see it. I hope it will also feature K-9 in some episodes too.Does anyone out there know anymore about this show or the newest
season of DOCTOR WHO? I wonder if either of these shows will be dealing with U.N.I.T.

Yes it was aired here in the UK earlier in the year. K9 is in it very little (he features only in the hour special and the last episode - both times very briefly).

There are some novelisations of the stories out as well (like the targets!).

It was aimed very squarely at the children's market, showing as part of BBC's children's scheduling, so I wouldn't expect too much of it. Taking this into account it's an OK 25 minutes.

I really enjoyed it when it was on BBC Kids Canada earlier this year. It was nice to see Sarah Jane again after her brief return to Doctor Who. She has really aged well. The stories were good to very good, the child actors were mostly excellent, and I look forward to series two.

Sarah Jane did phone UNIT (she said something about "the Brig" but Lethbridge Stewart is long retired so not sure which brigadier she meant) once to take care of some cleanup at the end of one episode, but nobody from UNIT appeared.

I have also heard that Sarah Jane and K9 come back to Doctor Who at the end of the 4th season. I've also heard there will be more about UNIT in series 4 Doctor Who, since Martha now works for them.

tardis I love your name. Thanks for the update. I'm not sure but they might be aired as hour episodes here on the Sci-Fi Channel.

On BBC Kids Canada they showed the half-hour episodes back to back, but there was an extra half hour's worth of really annoying commercials interspersed.

The episode with Jane Asher was absolutely wonderful.

I agree, Andy. Indeed I thought pretty much the whole of the SJ adventures was very good and I actually prefer it to Torchwood (though this year's TW season was better than the first one and a very sad finale last night).

I thought the whole series was on par or even better than Torchwood, actually. I'll definitely watch a second season/series.
