Anyone else on the west side? aka. in the mountains?

Down in the foothills (Hickory), but tramping through the mountains frequently, especially Boone, Wilkes Co., and Asheville.

Boone as well, for the time being.

I am in Hickory too!! have a brother in Asheville.

My county is half in the mountains and half in the Piedmont (makes snow days interesting). We go hiking at Chimney Rock frequently and go up to Lake Junaluska twice every year.

Wilkes County with excursions to Winston-Salem and Boone.

Forsyth County with day trips to the Boone/Blowing Rock area.

We go to the mountains several times a year, are passholders at Biltmore... But we live in central, in Chapel Hill

Eastern NC here, near Greenville. We're about a 90 minute drive from the Outer Banks.

But I do love the mountains.

I am right outside of Charlotte..doesn't look like anyone is close to me..I have an aunt who lives in Lake Lure near Chimney Rock

Everyone seems to be west, central or north...

I'm just north of Wilmington. Any further east and I'm in the ocean.

South east of Greenville, here. :)

I am from Wilmington, NC...went to school in Winston-Salem, NC....lived in Carrboro for 6 months then Asheville, and now I am in Raleigh!

I'm in Durham. Have lived in NC a long time, including Raleigh, Chapel Hill, and Wilmington. We travel to Black Mountain every month.

Just moved "north" - up near Winston-Salem now rather than in between Asheville and Charlotte, though I'm attending college in another state.

You mean you have bid adieu to our Lincoln Co. ?

Varielle: I actually bid adieu to Lincoln County in favor of Gaston ten years ago and then moved twice since then.
