New Author Photo Uploads Failing

Images appear to upload successfully, but neither thumbnails nor full-size images show up.

Do you know when these items were uploaded? Are these new uploads?

Okay, I'm finding that pictures grabbed from the web are failing to show, but pictures uploaded directly from a local file are showing up.

For those of you with images not showing up, which method did you use? Thanks!

Okay, conceptDawg is currently tracking this one down. Unfortunately, because we don't store the original image URLs for web-grabbed images, the missing images will need to be re-grabbed after this is fixed. Sorry for the trouble.

Others, do let me know if you see issues. There's a minor remaining issue on Safari Mohave, but it's a Safari problem that is getting fixed.

As for the missing images from the last ~24 hours grabbed from the web, those will need to be re-grabbed. Thanks for your patience!

And to clear up a point: usually we DO store the urls for grabbed images. Only this time they weren't being stored for these images because they were being written over. This was because we have recently hired (14 years ago) a terrible programmer that makes these sorts of mistakes where "if" is used where "else if" should be used.

Just noting that this affected venue images, too.

Reopening, as the uploads now seem to all result in a small thumbnail on author page, regardless of original upload size.

Most of them. But I'm closing because I think this is only an issue on the upload page. The actual author pages still seem to get full-size photos.
