As a current thread in "Pro and Con" illustrates, LT's flagging system is powerless against attacks imbedded in thread titles.

LT's flagging system is powerless against any real attacks anyway. I wouldn't visit Pro and Con for a million bucks, but if the title is LT-flaggable ("lorax is stinky"), I'm sure that you could just go ahead and flag the initial post, then ignore the thread so you don't have to see it.

If you believe that a new topic is flaggable, flag it. Do not answer it. If it gets 4 flags before it is answered, it will disappear.

I've had Pro and Con on ignore for years, but out of curiosity I peeked in to see if I could spot the offending title. The first part of the title contains three insults directed at Trump (an impressive feat for such a short sentence!), but that's not a TOS violation as he is not a member. The second part of the title is slightly ambiguous: are they calling everyone a "motherfucker" or just the people who disagree with the first part of the title? Either way the TOS *do* prohibit name calling of members, so report it to staff and let them decide.
ETA "of members"
ETA "of members"

However, namecalling (or worse) of members based on non-LT reasons is permitted. So if the thread title says all Republicans are poopyheads, it's okay, even though there are LT members who are Republicans. They have to name names for it to be flaggable. (This is based on Tim's notion that if you aren't being called out by name, it's just discussing ideas, no matter whether or not you're a member of a group being attacked or threatened.)

The same member has in the past made threads with stridently misogynistic titles, wishing for violence against women*, but I don't remember the OP here or anyone in that group complaining about those, or all the stridently misogynistic posts he has made over the years.
*I did say something about that particular thread in the group but no one cared--at least, male posters posted in it as if it were a thread like any other. (Don't know if any women did, there were none before I red-exed it and I have not looked at it since.)
