Booklikes down?

Is Booklikes gone for you too? Or is it just for me?

I've tried several times the past two days and haven't gotten in. I don't know.

It's been down for days, and extremely slow/unresponsive for over a week.

This past weekend was so bad for me trying to get on BL.

Sept. 27 I was able to login to BL and made a few postings with success! :)

Here is the lastest report on the state of Booklikes:

Dashboard is not working. You cannot get there from the log in screen and have to go in through your blog page, once you have logged in and gotten the error screen. You are logged in now but have no way of knowing it. There is a work around.

From your blog page, you can get to your "Following List" where you can navigate to the blog page of a friend, click on the envelope as if you were going to send the person a message. It will take you to the familiar Dashboard. If you don't see the envelope on your friends page, you are not logged. The envelope does not appear on your blog page. If it says Register, you are not logged in.

From there, you can use the drop down menu to navigate the Dashboard, get into settings, etc. My only suggestion is not to click on "Dashboard" in the drop down. Click on Blog if you wish to add a post.

The Dashboard feed is not working. You will not see the most recent posts of your fellow members, not that there is much to see. Most people have given up and are no longer bother to post anything on. Some have deleted their accounts.

The BL conversation has pretty much moved to GoodReads in a group called "The Outpost." Message the moderators, give your BL handle and tell them you saw my post here and wish to join.

BTW do not try to change your password. That function is not working and you will be locked out forever.

That's it. That's all the advice I have today.

More work-a-rounds.

After you have managed to get into DASHBOARD, here is how to make the feed actually feed. On the right side of the screen, their is a drop-down that lets you filter what you see on the Dashbaord feed. The default is ALL-- but really you get nothing. Use the dropdown to choose something else -- like Text or Reviews -- and voila, you are back in business. Of course, there isn't much to see because so many people have abandoned the place.
