Why are these considered duplicate works.

Just for ha has I clicked on the works multiple tag and went to the bottom just to see how many I had like this. Most are no surprise but this last one is:

The Colorado Forester 1926 by Fred Stell (Fort Collins, Colo.)
The Colorado Forester 1932 by Fred M. Hestbeck (Fort Collins, Colo.)

FYI I never combine or separate anything. I just put my books in and let 'em rip. If I'm not sure about a dup, I add it through "add books" and when it pops up as a dup, I make the appropriate adjustments in the record. Normally, it's increase the number of copies and add a private note to myself about where it is.

They were auto-combined for some reason. I've separated them:
https://www.librarything.com/work/24856597 The Colorado Forester 1932
https://www.librarything.com/work/24979703 The Colorado Forester 1926

It's easy to do from the work's Editions page.

Possibly at one point they were listed as "The Colorado Forester: 1932" etc.; the auto-combiner ignores anything after a colon.

>2 r.orrison: and >3 lorax: Thank you both for the help and possible reasons why. Next time I go looking I'll have to take a look at the work's Editions page.

Right now I'm just trying to get everything in. I want my floor space back in the library. I'm getting tired of banging my shins into everything. I don't want to wear my shin guards in the library. I do when I'm outside running the chainsaw and I'm not planning on rounding off the corners of the boxes with the saw(sic).
