Researchers have finally found a weak signal of Neanderthal genes in everyone, including non-subSaharan Africans. This is attributed to a much earlier episode of emigration out of Africa, and a return of Homo sapiens to Africa later transferring genes acquired from Neanderthals to the remaining populations.
