Over the years I've added a fair number of links from authors' pages to articles on the online version of the Dictionary Welsh of Biography. They relaunched their website today, moving from a sub-domain of the National Library of Wales (yba.llgc.org.uk) to their own domain (biography.wales), and posting richer content.

The old site will stay up for a while (probably years), but I would like to edit the links. Is there a way for me to either search my own CK contributions for links to the DWB, or better still, all LT links to DWB? Thanks.

>1 Cynfelyn: Well, there is now with the new author link system (see this thread), but I'm afraid that wasn't in place until very recently. We might be able to do a find-and-replace for the domain, if that's all that's changing, but I'll have to ask devs about that.

Well, these things are never so simple, are they? The Dictionary Welsh of Biography is published in both English and Welsh, as 'Y bywgraffiadur Cymreig'. The old version used the domains http://yba.llgc.org.uk/ and http://wbo.llgc.org.uk/, plus cy/ or en/. en (=English) and cy (=Cymraeg, =Welsh). I can't remember what the difference between yba and wbo is, and it probably isn't relevant any more.

The last element of the URL is the bit that stays the same, although the .html ending wants stripping out, as the new URLs don't seem to like it; I'm no techie, so I apologise it that is teaching grannies how to suck eggs.

It seems to me that s-articles (s=Saesneg ('Saxon'), =English) want changing to the domain https://biography.wales/article/, while c-articles want changing to https://bywgraffiadur.cymru/article/. Getting them the other way around leads to 404 error messages.

Hopefully these examples will make the matter clearer:

English:

Dafydd ap Gwilym (c.1315-c.1350), poet

>2 lorannen: Yeah, so not a find-and-replace-able kind of deal. I'll see if we can't dig up link additions specific to your account. Fingers crossed, but I'm not sure we kept that info prior to the new link system.
