Paranormal / Heroine / Hybrid /half "Guardian"

Hello everyone, I am hoping that someone will be able to recognize and be able to tell me the name of the author or title of these books that I want to get, but only read the synopsis and first chapters. I know, should have wrote the information down, but I thought I would remember it . . . nope. So here it goes:

The books can be considered a Paranormal set in present time or close to it. It centers around a Heroine that is a Hybrid elite cop/assassin. I know that half of her is "Guardian", which are considered the most deadly and strongest of the main species, hence the reason that she is one of the elite cops. The Guardians are the bogey men of the species, because they are the ones that are sent after the rule breakers and the really bad/naughty paranormals. I do not know if the humans are oblivious to these other species or not.

The book states that there are about 4 main species and all others are lower caste. The leader of the Aegis if you will, is chosen from either the light or dark factions no matter which to keep the balance. The current leader is not the Hero and I think that he is of the Dark faction (keep in mind, Dark does not mean evil) , but he is the one that found her when she was only 11 years old and was in severe critical condition, (broken bones nearly dead). She had been cast out of her clan by the leader (who new full well and thought for sure she would not survive because her healing abilities had not yet kicked in) when her only living relative died because the Heroine was only half of whatever that clan was and that leader was an elitist snob. This book is actually the first or second of a series of unknown number. The leader of the Aegis is very protective of her (father figure, and by the way we do not know who her father is, her mother would never say what or who, (only find out he was Guardian when she comes into her Guardian powers), however the Aegis leader had to keep breaking her bones (??) so they would not heal and cripple her for some time until her Guardian powers activated (which continues to haunt him and he is telling the Hero of the story about how he met her and why she is far stronger than the Hero thinks she is). The Hero of the story is actually the son or grandson of the leader of this clan that kicked her out and so of course she is not impressed with him. I think his name started with an M. He is referred to as a Prince. The first chapter starts out with her hunting someone naughty and the Hero is too. He mistakes her for a lower caste weaker species and is bemoaning having to stop what he is doing to go "Save" her, unknowing that she does not need his help in any shape, fashion or form. I pretty much stopped reading the chapter, thinking that I would get it latter. The Author is someone I know I would recognize name-wise, as I know that I have read a lot of her books, problem, I have a lot of books.

In addition, the Heroine is very snarky and actually appeared in another book I read to help the Hero in the spinoff series, (unfortunately, I do not remember that book title either). I looked up this book and the Heroine, solely because I really liked her cameo appearance in the spinoff world book. Hybrid Heroine was able to "trace" the second Hero's people off of the ?planet/plain? of where they lived (in this book the Hero's people were placed on this planet/plain as a punishment or to keep them contained, they were not there by choice) and I remember she and her Mate "M" were already together. And boy did she kick ass :)

There is actually 2 books referring to this Hybrid Heroine and Hero in a multi-book series that has them and other characters. The first book is their origin story of how they get together and the second or third is sort of a maybe a novella kind of book that writes about the fact that she is now pregnant, but has not yet told her mate and the angst is do they stay together(?). It opens with how she is complaining to her boss how she is tired of the "vampires" that keep sniffing her to see if she is their mate, I guess maybe because she is able to travel by tracing and that is not normal (maybe for a hybrid / guardian it is). She is still helping the spinoff book Hero get his people to a new home world.

So if anyone might be able to point me in the right direction, or any direction, I would be so utterly grateful. I really really want to read her story. I think it might be several years ago that it was written and I could have sworn that I saw it on Amazon or eHarlequin.
