I'm in a small town in northern Maine where several retired policeman have died and it seems suspicious to the sheriff but not to anyone else. It's Winter at the Door by Sarah Graves.

I just paid a visit to Sergei’s family. There were some 20 people sitting in a semicircle waiting for the Meerkats to get out and go about their business. Cute little critters.

In keeping with my travels I read Icarus by Deon Meyer, set in South Africa.
