There are many interesting Cabell items still available from the Oriel collection. This is what’s currently available, as of 2 Oct 2017, from a large Cabell collection that was assembled in the 1930s-1950s, in part by incorporating other collections. About two dozen of these items are signed and/or inscribed by James Branch Cabell. In addition, about a dozen of these items bear the bookplate, stamp or initials of Montgomery Evans II (1901-1954), collector, literary catalyst, and friend of Cabell, Arthur Machen, Lord Dunsany, Walter de la Mare, Aleister Crowley, and many other literary figures of the time. https://archives.lib.siu.edu/?p=creators/creator&id=366

I'm glad there is some interest here. It is an extensive collection as my great-grandfather was a rare book collector for decades and his primary focus was Cabell. Please feel free to message me here or email me at my hotmail account with books you are interested in and I am happy to put together really fair prices for Cabell fans. Since my great-grandfather was such a huge fan, I feel these books should end up in more Cabell collectors' hands.

What is the design supposed to be? A water creature looking back at a fairy with a setting or rising sun? I've seen it so many times now in these various Cabell pieces but can't quite make out what it is.

Note it's a Black Sun. Based on Sime's mythical and fantastical images for Dunsany as noted in >5 elenchus:, presumably not an allusion to Nazi concept, but the older alchemical sun.
