Been thinking about what my favourite book in the series is. I think its probably between The Shadow Rising and Lord of Chaos. There are parts of the other books I like a lot, (my favourite sequence so far is probably the cleansing of the source) but start to finish these 2 really are phenomenal books.

Picking one, I'd have to go with The Shadow Rising.

I have to agree with you: The Shadow Rising is my fave with Lord of Chaos and A Crown of Swords in second place.

Fave scene: hmmmmm....the Far Snows....
Seriously tho: Nynaeve walking into the Borderlands and getting the men of Malkier to ride again. A small chapter and late in the serious, but my eyes water badly every time I read it.

Everyone loves The Shadow Rising, although I think I like The Fires of Heaven just about as much. The Eye of the World and Lord of Chaos are up there, though.

For me Lord of Chaos and that final scene with the exploding Shaido...I thought that gory bit was the high point of the entire series. (I'm not sure I could tell you why... but then it's been 10 years since I read it.)

I am currently reading book 7, A Crown of Swords, and so far I cannot say which book is my favorite. I do know one moment in the books that stick out in my mind is the end of The Great Hunt when Rand is proclaimed the Dragon Reborn after Mat blows the Horn of Valere. It just felt like such an epic moment to me. Awesome.

Ilon, Your right that is an absolutely epic moment. I liked EOTW, but after that confrontation, I became a WOT addict.

Yup, I'm in The Shadow Rising camp.=)

After that, Eye of the World is my next favorite. I really loved the prologue, and the opening chapter is just...awesome. Jordan had a way with words, and I could just picture and feel the cold and foreboding with Rand walking down that road..

seriously, though, i don't know which one is my favorite, but the M5 scene in tGH is one of my favorites. and, in my opinion, the only good part of the book. that one just seemed to drag on with little or no point.
