Hello everyone, I'm technically not in fantasyland at the moment (though I'm reading about the companions of the Doctor so I can see it from where I'm standing), but where are you?

Right now I'm on the world of the Atevi with a would-be Peacemaker, between planets headed for a Wizard's Holiday, and wondering what will become of two good friends and their Mindline. This has been a tough reading year for me as far as actually finishing books, so I'm hoping cozy and familiar will do the job.

Just wrapping up the big finale of Shadowmarch and looking forward to the sequels. This series looks something like a paler shade of "Memory, Sorrow and Thorn" though, with a lot of parallels, so I'd never recommend this as the starting point for getting to know Tad Williams. A good follow-up if you're already a fan and would like to read more by him that has a similar flavour.

Heading to London. There's a book needing to be retrieved for The Invisible Library.

Finished Wizard's Holiday, which leads straight into Wizards at War, so I will probably read that soon, but for now I am reading Rachel Neumeier's latest, The Mountain of Kept Memory. I love the rich descriptions of her books, and this one has a really cool science fantasy feel to it that reminds me of Sharon Shinn's Archangel or some of Tanith Lee's work.

I'm headed back to the Disc and am chasing after the Thief of Time.

I'm in an alternative Wild West, looking for Silver on the road.

Earlier this month I visited the Tower of thorns which was a moving, sometimes traumatic but overall wonderful experience, and looked for Shadows of self with Wax and Wayne.

Finished reading Elric of Melnibone, a book I tried to read in high school but couldn't get into. All these years later it feels like a throwback, but a good one. I liked the melancholy and the hovering hand of fate. I may read more of these to see what else happens.

>13 Cecrow: I read the first four of these last year, on recommendation from ScoLgo. He was right - they are quite an adventure. I understand there are more in the series but I haven't located them yet.

I am halfway through Red Seas Under Red Skies. I see what other reviewers mean when they say it's not quite as compelling as Lies of Locke Lamora, but it feels a lot like the middle of a trilogy, which is usually all setup for a bigger bang to come at the end, so I am reserving my estimation of it for now.

Currently on "The Outskirts" learning about the fascinating culture of the folks who live there in The Outskirter's Secret.
