Instead of the cuecat, could I use this "Wired Handheld USB Automatic Laser Barcode Scanner Reader With USB Cable"

https://www.amazon.com/Handheld-Automatic-Barcode-Scanner-Reader/dp/B003VR2UQ6/

It's cheaper than the CueCat and I envision it quicker. Am I wrong?

I tried searching for this kind of question before I posted it but didn't find anything.

Thanks,

Joe

If it is anything like the barcode scanners I know of everything should be fine and dandy. Most likely you can even program the Scanner by scanning barcodes from the manual. (Most often used to get it to append a line break to the barcode if you so desire.)

The scanned barcode is returned to your computer just as if you had typed the digits on your keyboard.

Looks like it would work fine. That is very cheap! I suspect it works very much like the Cat (in terms of accuracy and speed), so if it's cheaper go for it.

Just curious, did this work okay?
