I have away for about a month, and when I logged in I noticed on top of my page where settings/display styles/covers etc. there is now a drop down menu titled Melvil Decimal System, with selections like 'tags' authors' 'titles' etc. I don't recall seeing this menu before, and want to know if it can be removed

Just change it to what you expect to see there. When you hit something in the menu the tab changes to have that visible even when you are using a different tab. I keep mine on tags usually.

Hi saintjamesluther!

The drop-down you're describing has been in the Top Bar of the "Your books" page for at least as long as I've been a LibraryThing member (over 2 years now). The items in the drop-down are various sub-pages of "Your books", and show your library's tags, authors, series, media types, etc. Every member has the same Top Bar on "Your books", it can't be removed. Sorry for the trouble.

Okay, maybe I am just over sensitive to anything that says 'Decimal' on it right now. i discovered that the previous volunteer librarian was running out of room on the shelves--indeed, one subject was 'shelved' on a window sill--she starting putting books where ever there was room, whether they were in the right subject call number or not. And very few had any sort of cutter numbers-what a mess. We are scrapping Dewey. But that is for another thread...

I need some ideas about ebooks for small church libraries.
