Those of us working out how to double-stack our Ikea Billy bookcases might like to pause to remember Gilles Lundgren (1929-2016), designer of furniture for IKEA including Billy, who died at the end of February.
Lundgren joined IKEA in 1953 as the company's fourth employee and was responsible for many of its successful products but Billy must have had the greatest impact, at least for LTers.
