I'm super excited to join this group! I'm getting a bit of a late start, but hopefully it won't be too bad. I've read quite a few books in the last week thanks to my internet going out.

Well, time to start. I've finished the following books this year to date:

1. The Pigeon Pie Mystery by Julia Stuart - not very good I'm afraid. The characters were rather flat for me and the main character was a total brat! The ending was anticlimactic and there was no personal growth whatsoever for the main two characters. I truly feel for that poor doctor as her love interest. . . This book had a lot of potential, but it just couldn't deliver. I struggled to finish it.

2. The Accidental Genie by Dakota Cassidy- Cute book. It was entertaining but no award winner. I enjoyed the premise of the storyline, but I think the author could have gone a lot farther with the genie part. There was a lot of focus on the main characters past, which was interesting, but it pushed the attention away from the whole supernatural story line.

3. Castle of the Wolf by Sandra Schwab- delightfully cheesy. This was exactly what one could expect from a romance book. It was quite entertaining and had an interesting cast and setting. I especially loved the setting of the book and the little details of how the main character starts to warm up to the old castle.

I'm currently reading Strange Neighbors by Ashlyn Chase and Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen and hope to have them finished this week.

Well, that's it for now. I'm thinking of some Sherlock Holmes and maybe phantom of the opera soon. I'd love to read a good Jack the Ripper book, but haven't found a good recommendation yet. If anyone has some ideas, I'd love to hear them!
