I have the VISTA OS on a new laptop. The cat works fine when tested in MS Word. When I use it to scan ISBN numbers in "Add a Book Mode", the code comes up in the search box. But.. then a window opens suggesting settings for a camera. When I cancel that box and hit search, no results are found. (LT does not post a book selection when the ISBN code appears in the search box. The computer shows the device as an HID in the keyboard, hardware drop down. Any ideas? I love the idea of the device, have a lot of books to load into the system, but it may be faster to pick up, carry and key them into the system. HELP!

Sorry. no idea what's happening with Vista (I may upgrade in a year or so); but i can tell you that HID means 'Human Interface Device', in this case a keyboard, and is correct for the CueCat.

I have Vista Home Premium on my laptop and no problems with my Cuecat, using it with DVD Profiler, Book Collector and LibraryThing.
