Did you have any favorite lines or scenes in Slade House? Share them here! I'll kick things off with one of mine:

Very near the end of the book, on page 231, as Marinus leaves through the Aperture, we get the thoughts of Norah's disembodied spirit, and among them is:

"Was that my life? Was that all?"

It's a pretty forlorn bit of text, made a bit darkly funny (to me) by the fact that it's said by a centuries-old being. But it's also one of the most relatable moments we see of Norah.

That line absolutely elicited a chuckle from me, lorannen.

>1 lorannen: love it :)
maybe my favorite scene... I loved the extra door in the house that Sally found... when she almost exited the aperture without realizing it! The imagery was great and the thought of what it could mean made me "put a pin in it"...

I really liked the line..

"Grief's an amputation, but Hope's incurable haemophilia; you bleed and bleed and bleed, like Schrodinger's cat but with a box you can never get open"
