If you like Flashy, you may want the non fiction "Queen Victoria's Little Wars"
by Byron Farwell. This is an excellent little book on the amazing number of small clashes and native wars during the 19th century that British forces (and Flashy) were involved in fighting.
If nothing else, it gives a background to the times and conflicts that Flashy and British society was heir to.

Thanks, Lee! Have you read any of his other books? I see a couple of other titles that look interesting.

(Adding touchstones): Queen Victoria's Little Wars by Byron Farwell.

I have several of Byron Farwell's books. Another good writer in this area is Donald Featherstone

I know this topic is long dormant, but I'd like to thank my fellow Flashman fans for the recommendations above. I'm not heavily into history, but I do love to read the occasional book in that area.
