Since I am an avid reader and read whenever the chance presents itself, my reading goal for 2014 is a total of 500 books. My TBR mountain range has roughly 500 books at last count... So I am going to challenge myself to read at minimum 200 books from the pile.

A list of some of the highlights to follow on 1-1-2014 as who knows I might go book shopping today or something might arrive at my door. I know several books that I have been "hording" for the right moment.

This is probably stupid but where do I find the registered list? I misread the instructions and will most likely have to change my number..... although maybe not....

>2 bookworminc: I'm not quite sure what you mean by "the registered list"?

What I meant was, that all participants create a post with something like " ..... 's 2014 MTBR Challenge". In the first post of your topic you state (approximately) the amount of books on your MTBR that are registered by other BC-members. The second part of your first post would be about the number of books you want to read from that mountain.

Every other post will (in my case) list the books I've read, who gave it to me and how long it has been in my possession (thanks to soffitta1 / SqueakyChu for that idea).

You are free to organise the books read any way you want to: a single book per post, edit a single post untill you have 10 books listed, list the books read per month, whatever you like best.

Thank you for the clarification. I will most likely post weekly.

200 books! Wow! Even counting audiobooks, which I absolutely fly through, I have yet to reach triple digits in a single year. Good luck!

Thank you. Since I tend to get new releases from the library and always try to take advantage of all they offer, I tend not to touch the TBR sometimes for weeks at a time.... I might not be able to get 200 off the list.... In fact the last two books I read where not on the pile.

Below are the books that came off the TBR Mountain Range so far this month: (6)

Bright Lights no City
It's Not My Fault Tales of a Vermont Doctor
Strange Stones
An Old Betrayal
Going Loco: Further Adventures of a Scottish country Doctor
The Golden Calf by Helene Tursten

Ratings will appear on my library when the books get entered on the shelf on the last of the month. All of these books had been started in 2013 and just got finished this month.

Thanks. I am a fast reader .... although I did start a lot of books in December with the Christmas holidays and then New Years that did not get finished last year. My family are all readers so we all spent much of Christmas week reading in front of the fire
