Bevard & Pecuchet the last novel by Gustave Flaubert, a companion book to my earlier summer reading of The Know-It-All by A.J.Jacobs.
B&P are a pair of overly ambitious simpletons, overwhelmed by applied knowledge, without experience, yielding venture failure.

I've given up on B&P, too much chronic failure becomes excessively depressing. Hence, I am returning to my Harvard Classics collection - Lectures. Also ordering a book referred, still need to find a recreational growth and stretch book.

I am currently reading The Law of Dreams by Peter Behrens. So far, an excellent read.
After this I will most likely go back and finish Artemisia by Alexandra Lapierre.

I haven't posted for a while. Since my last post, I have read Olive Kitteridge by Elizabeth Strout and Why the Devil Chose New England for His Work by Jason Brown, both with Maine settings. While they are very different books, I thought I 'recognized' the characters in the latter a little more than in the former:-)
Now reading Hope Leslie.
