Interesting graphics in the Grauniad today:

Holy infographics: the bible visualised

'God is in the detail' - the expression may have been overshadowed by the newer 'the devil is in the detail' but for some people the original idiom still holds true. Scholars have been visualising the holy texts for years but recently, they've taken a turn towards data. Here are some of the most interesting biblical visualisations we've found

thank you for that. Confusing in places but interesting.

The truth is, God exists and each person’s duty is to worship Him. However, many people choose to rebel against Him; and so they will look for reasons to cloud out Him being existed!

As a result, it allows them to feel free of doing wrongs and to commit all sorts of crimes. Which they can do without having any fear, but it seems that they just can’t get away from the fear of God; and that’s a great bother to all them yet!

No elaboration needed for me. I am amazed at cl1914p's insight into the thinking of the unsaved. He has us pegged EXACTLY.

E.g., belief in a god would interfere with my desire to commit adultery and murder on a regular basis, two pastimes of which I am overly fond, so naturally I dropped the whole possibility of belief in god decades ago.

cl1914p is obviously not only saved AND best buddies with the almighty but he obviously has a super-genius I.Q. - like Stephen Hawking, except sans the atheist attitude, of course.

Keep studying and praying, jtf. One day you too can become a cl1914p. (I wonder if he is any kin to C-3PO?)

One infographic on the bible that The Grauniad missed in that article is this one, on contradictions (inspired by the first in the OP) :

I am sorry if I have offended any one, it wasn’t my intention to offend, but then, perhaps, that’s what God had wanted post. In which case, I could not have said no to Him, when He is much bigger and stronger than me! Furthermore He is the owner of Wisdom, Knowledge and understanding, who can resist Him? I cannot! Then we will do best to praise and worship Him continually, He is GOOD!

You obviously have a wonderful relationship. In some sense or another, real or metaphorical, you seem the Bride of Christ.

BTW, what is your (the lord's) position on gay marriage?

First of all JGL53, thank you for the complement! One tried to trap Jesus called Him good man!

Now, regarding your question, first thing first, I have no intention of telling any one of how to live his/her’s life; even so, it would be right if we all could live our lives in accordance with God’s plan, but some people have their own plans! Yet, one thing is sure, no one can put words in God’s mouth; and so, what He says wrong is wrong, whether we like it or not.

He says a man should not lie with another man in the same way as he would with a woman. Presuming, He must have meant for the same purpose! Thus God created ADAM ‘a male and a female’ EVE! Why didn’t He create another man in stead of Eve? You can guess! Enjoy your day, and seek God’s blessings upon your life!

=============
All of these words are from your Bible: Take up and read.

Jonathan and David Sola scriptura

1sa.18.1 And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul. 1sa.18.2 And Saul took him that day, and would let him go no more home to his father's house. 1sa.18.3 Then Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul. 1sa.18.4 And Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that was upon him, and gave it to David, and his garments, even to his sword, and to his bow, and to his girdle.

1sa.20.16 So Jonathan made a covenant with the house of David, saying, Let the LORD even require it at the hand of David's enemies.† 1sa.20.17 And Jonathan caused David to swear again, because he loved him: for he loved him as he loved his own soul.

1sa.20.30 Then Saul's anger was kindled against Jonathan, and he said unto him, Thou son of the perverse rebellious woman, do not I know that thou hast chosen the son of Jesse to thine own confusion, and unto the confusion of thy mother's nakedness?† 1sa.20.31 For as long as the son of Jesse liveth upon the ground, thou shalt not be established, nor thy kingdom. Wherefore now send and fetch him unto me, for he shall surely die.

1sa.20.41 And as soon as the lad was gone, David arose out of a place toward the south, and fell on his face to the ground, and bowed himself three times: and they kissed one another, and wept one with another, until David exceeded.

1sa.23.16 And Jonathan Saul's son arose, and went to David into the wood, and strengthened his hand in God. 1sa.23.17 And he said unto him, Fear not: for the hand of Saul my father shall not find thee; and thou shalt be king over Israel, and I shall be next unto thee; and that also Saul my father knoweth. 1sa.23.18 And they two made a covenant before the LORD: and David abode in the wood, and Jonathan went to his house.

2sa.1.26 I am distressed for thee, my brother Jonathan: very pleasant hast thou been unto me: thy love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women.

All quotations from the KJV.

The link is very interesting and maybe even useful. But why did the thread devolve into a pro- homosexual litmus test?

Trolling: ...Referring to those individuals that strive to creating hate and discontent on message boards by posting inflammatory messages on controversial subjects....also using personal insults to fan the flame...enjoying getting other people angry and upset....

From: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_trolling&altQ=What_is_trolling_on_facebook...

My post # 8 which you labeled as trolling:

"You obviously have a wonderful relationship. In some sense or another, real or metaphorical, you seem the Bride of Christ.

BTW, what is your (the lord's) position on gay marriage?"

The first sentence was merely, IMO, a humorous statement of the obvious. The response in post #9 by cl1914p seemed to recognize this. The second sentence was a legitimate question - I am always interested in the individual christian's take on the gay question and post # 9 by cl1914p is a serious response to my query.

OTOH, jtf, your post #14, and post # 10 by eclecticdodo are, IMO, the actual best examples of utterly humorless trolling on this thread.

Question: is trolling a christian thing to do?

If not, then cut it out - or admit you are not a christian. Pick one.

lol.

As long as they didn't have sexual relations and/or did not lust after each other in that way - then loving each other would have to be assumed to be a good and wholesome relationship of which the Lord would and could only approve.

I think that would be the apologetics used.

It's called spiritual discernment. Not only atheists but many self-labeled christians don't have this blessing so the obvious escapes them time and time again.

If you do not believe me then just ask cl1914p.

"Troll" is the highest ranking catachresis of the christianity forum, it would seem - also in other forums, apparently.

I imagine the "thinking" in some troll-accuser noggin goes something like this:

"IF someone posts on the thread, pointing out a severe illogic in one of my posts, or otherwise questions or challenges my prejudices - especially in a way that does not give proper respect to my viewpoint - then I get angry.

And, thus, if the poster has made me mad - and basically just wasted my time since the opposing view presented will not change my mind one iota (immediate rejection of another's comments usually based on emotional grounds) - THEN I will label my opponent as a TROLL - as in, e.g., 'Please do not feed the trolls'. (lol) I mean, what else is to be done - since I have no reasoned rebuttal to offer?"

This is the ploy, I am thinking, that we are contending with here, quicksiva.

It seems that, among a few others similarly consistently insulted, it will be my continuing cross to bear, so to speak.

I would hope a christian could empathize with this.
