My 8 year old cousin has just become a sister and I'd like to get her a book about being a good older sister. Any suggestions?

Yay! Congratulations to her. Although she's probably reading chapter books, nothing can improve on The New Baby by Mercer Mayer. I'm almost 60 and I still love Little Critter books.
There are lots of books tagged 'new baby.' Many are picture books, but there is Junie B. Jones and a Little Monkey Business. I haven't read that one, but they are always hilarious and heart-warming. My grands love them.

I did a search on the public (free) version of Worldcat and there are 400 results with this search:

Basically I did an Advanced search combining all of the following:
subject = babies fiction
subject = sisters fiction
language = English
audience = juvenile
format = book
Down the left column, you can filter by year so as to get more recent stuff (i.e. books more likely to still be in print).

It might depend on her reading level, but I was 8 when I was given my first copy of Little Women. While it isn't a "how to be a good big sister" book, the relationships between the sisters is the centerpiece.
