For once, I actually own the book so don't have to order it from the library!

I read this book a long time ago, but I *loved* it, so I've been lurking waiting for the discussion...

I've ordered a copy, and hope to read it before I go away on Feb 9th. I've been looking forward to this one.

It seems to be available at my library so I'll pick it up in a few days if it hasn't flown off the shelf in the meantime.

It's been ages since I've read it--really, probably 30 years. It was one of the first by Le Guin I ever read, right after Left Hand of Darkness. My February schedule is jam-packed with fantasy, but you know what? I need something to read right now that isn't fantasy, and I think I'll go pull it off the shelf.

I will try to get a copy at the library: I've never read The Lathe of Heaven.

I love this book! I haven't participated in a group read in a while. This is a good one to start back with.

I may get kicked out of the Dragon for admitting this, but:

Yay! I'm in good company, then....
For me that's the fun of the shared reads here--sometimes they are old favorites and sometimes something totally new to me.

My copy arrived and I'm going to start it asap.

Reading chapter two, I kept hearing Bloody Mary singing in my head...
You got to have a dream
If you don't have a dream
How you going to have a dream come true?

#9, 10 -- They don't throw you out. I also hadn't readabookbyursulaleguin when I joined. What they do is that the puffins hang a series of carrots in front of you until you succumb and start reading. Worked for me ;-)

I will be looking at this when I get back into town next week - I read it a loooong time ago (and didn't like it much), but I've liked other things LeGuin wrote a lot, so am interested to see what I think of it now.

Give it a try, markon. Some books I didn't like as a youth I have enjoyed as an adult...and vice versa!

I have just joined Green Dragon which links to this group (1/30/13). I did read this book long ago and even saw a couple of movie versions (I think both made in Britain). I look forward to the discussion, though am unsure when you really start discussing the book.
I thought when I read it that it was a fascinating book and went on to read a few other Le Guin books (e.g. Left Hand of Darkness). I look forward to the online discussion (?).

Finished reading The Lathe of Heaven and enjoyed it.

I've got to get this one read. I've read it before, but it's been a while.
