I know there are quite a few new Lincoln books to have come out recently. Has anyone read any of them, or gotten your claws into something you consider new? I just received the title Rise to Greatness: Abraham Lincoln and America's Most Perilous Year by David Von Drehle from the early reviewers. I have not gotten but a few pages into it, but so far is all is well. Curious fact, the review copy I received has a different title than the final version.

I haven't read any Lincoln books in quite a while but David Von Drehle is a great writer. Triangle: the Fire that Changed America was an excellent book and strong narrative history. Still it's hard to find anything really new and unique about Lincoln these days. I did enjoy reading Lincoln and his Admirals about 2 or 3 years back. And anything by Harold Holzer is worth a look.

I received it as well with the title "1862". It was a very good read, I highly enjoyed it.
