Hello all!

I got married last year, and among the many benefits to me has been the unification of two amazing book collections. Now that I've got everything cataloged, I'm starting to realize just how many Books that are On My Book Shelves that I haven't read yet.

Not that I can blame it all on the union of sets. There were already a significant number of longstanding shelf-sitters to work through. But now, I have a chance to formalize my plan of attack and defuse those pesky BOMBS.

The list below is my reading list for the 75 Books in 2012 challenge, and they're pretty much all BOMBS already. Whenever I read one, and it goes in the defused column, another will take its place! My goal, to make it through 40 between now and the end of the year.

Watership Down by Richard Adams
The Clan of the Cave Bear by Jean M. Auel
The Ugly Little Boy by Isaac Asimov
Mysteries Unwrapped: The Real Monsters by Sudipta Bardhan-Quallen
The Undead World of Oz by L. Frank Baum and Ryan C. Thomas
The Black Unicorn by Terry Brooks
Agyar by Steven Brust
John Carter of Mars by Edgar Rice Burroughs (Books 2 and 3)
The Spiderwick Chronicles: The Completely Fantastical Edition by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black (5 books in 1)
A Star Called Henry by Roddy Doyle
The Mirror of Worlds by David Drake
The Gods Return by David Drake
The Elenium by David Eddings (3 books in 1)
The Tamuli by David Eddings (3 books in 1)
Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides
The Mouse and His Child by Russell Hoban
The Areas of My Expertise by John Hodgman
More Information Than You Require by John Hodgman
The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
Unaccustomed Earth by Jhumpa Lahiri
The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. LeGuin
Warriors ed. George R.R. Martin and Gardner Dozois
The Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Orczy
Special Topics in Calamity Physics by Marisha Pessl

Well, I've knocked two off the list above already, so that's 2/40. What is the best way to communicate progress?

If you look around at some of the other threads in the challenge, you may find a set-up that you can use. Some just list the books that they read and count them off, others have tickers to count toward their goal. Whatever you decide, remember to report your progress on the Group Monthly thread so Cheli can adjust the totals.
