Hi,
I'm looking for any suggestion for resources, etc... that might be good places to get donation or free books/resources. I'm a librarian in a very high poverty high school. It is my first year there and the collection is ancient. I'd love to try to find a way to get the kids some newer materials. Unfortunately no budget until the end of the school year.
Any direction is appreciated.

I don´t know about the American system, because I am a school librarian in Germany. Here you can get books from different kind of ressources for free if you are a public institution.
You could try to contact different businesses or charity organization that help to raise money or organize some event to raise money with them...

Depending on where you are in the US, this may or not be helpful to you. BookTrust provided our low income students with the opportunity to get $7 worth of books free each month through Scholastic. https://www.booktrust.org/what/faqs
