Do you regard being well read as a defining trait of the intellectual?

What happened to your message? Just found this. I was AFK for much of November, and when I returned this had been buried.

I deleted it. This group seemed (seems) to be moribund, and I lost interest in having my lonesome little question sit out there naked and exposed for so many months. I'd have deleted the whole topic if I could.

Awww...

And yes, there appears to be only three of us here. (Despite the fact we have 29 members.)

I joined this group when I was new to LT, thinking that this was a logical place to find a comfy little subgroup of Ms. That turned out to be mistaken.

But then there was the other thing. When this group was listed in my profile, the all-caps "MENSANS" was way too prominent. I'm not ashamed of my membership, but I prefer not to shout about it. Boastful Ms are offputting and embarrassing, in my experience. So I left the group in order to delete the name from my profile.

I think I originally wanted to name it "Of Mice and MENsans"...

And I'd be more than willing to change the name, if anyone has a suggestion. In fact I will start a new thread.
