Woot - new challange! Or rather, new to me since I only spotted this group recently. Will dig out an e-map and start recording shortly... like most people I know I've read novels in most of the big ones but some of the eastern bloc are going to be toughies.

I'm stalking you :) No - actually honestly. Saw the group on your page and decided it might be fun. Haven't really had a chance to fill in the above yet. I know I've read far more countries - it's just remembering...

I quite want to do the states one too - but again it's looking up all the American books I've read trying to remember which states they cover!

Death in Venice - darn it. Just more Italy!

That keeps happening to me. As soon as I start a challenge, I end up reading nothing that fits. And this year my reading seems very Englandy... or else non-fiction that is all over the place.

I saw your Death in Venice review while we were on holiday - made me slightly more inclined to attempt The Magic Mountain but I need to clear the decks first, and I seem to have 4 or 5 books on the go.

(sorry for the threadjack!)

I think this is the first time I've seen Casino Royale on a list for Montenegro. Is it a significant portion of the book, or is it just one scene?

Hmmm - now I'm not sure. I couldn't find my copy when I was compilling the above list so googled it since I was sure the casino was somewhere interesting. Turns out the films casino was in Montenegro (so the majority of the film) but now I'm not sure about the book... off to research!

#6 No worries Cushla - always nice to have you pop in :) I always seem to be very Englishy - and main Europe. Prob since I read so much old fashioned stuff. Just read Les Enfants Terribles but that's just more France!

Three books into the year and it's two books for France and another California for the 50 states challenge. Sheesh!
