I have read ALL the books in this series, and currently waiting for the next book to come out in November 2011. As for the questions, I couldn't tell you who my favorite characters are within the series. I know I like Zoey and Stark, and there are a few others.
I like these authors as a writing team. I mainly like how they put a twist on vampires but kept it traditional with them only coming out at night.

I have read the first one. It was all right, but it didn't inspire me to read the rest of the series. Sorry! Maybe reading all of your enthusiastic opinions will cause me to want to read more. :-)

1. I've read books one through six, though it seems as though I never cataloged the sixth book.
2. I can't say yet which character is my favorite since I haven't read these books in a bit, but I'm going to say as a cat person I liked that Zoey has a cat, which is maybe one of my favorites. Pets just seem to know things in some books. (Just look at Crookshanks in Prisoner of Azkaban.)
3. My favorite book in this series, story aside, is book five: Hunted. This is because my copy's an advanced reader's copy signed by P.C. Cast, thanks to our foggi! The day I received it was really exciting. Story-wise, my favorite book is book one, Marked. I often favor the first book in a series. Mini spoiler: Also, I feel the authors could have gone in a different direction than how the series in general turns out, if they'd just chosen to see the world as something different. But then it wouldn't be the House of Night as everyone knows it, now would it? END mini spoiler. I have enjoyed the first few books more than the later few, which is why I'm not caught up to the series.
4. At first I was really curious who wrote what and how co-authors split works up exactly. Do they each write separately or separate characters, or do they sit down and write together? Surely, I figured, they don't split the book in half. ;) I think, though, that people who know each other well may be able to write a book together better, such as with a mother and daughter writing as P.C. and Kristen Cast do. Sometimes I've wondered how their writing styles differ. I got a chance to see a little of how they write differently with Immortal: Love Stories with Bite. (P.C. wrote the introduction and Kristen wrote a short story.)

Wow I must say I'm a little jealous. You have a signed ARC from P.C. Cast. But that's okay.
On a different note...I just ordered Sisters Red by Jackson Pearce. I also need to pre-order Forever by Maggie Stiefvater. I read a lot of YA books. I found a website in which I can get autographed books without paying more than $40 for each one. :)
Well back to my book, must finish writing it before August.
