Nicholas Courtney passed away yesterday at age 81. :(

His SJA appearance was pretty great, but I had always hoped that the Brig would get to interact with yet another Doctor.

Me too - would have been cool to see him with either Eccleston or Tennant - sounds like he was too ill to have managed a turn with Matt Smith.
Very sad to hear of his death. He was a fine actor and from what I've read he was a really nice man, too.

Very sad and shocking news.
He will continue to live on and be remembered in the TV stories he acted in the audio dramas he also acted in and the countless novels, short stories and comic strips that he's appeared in over the years.

I know I posted it on facebook T.T do you guy's think there should write Brig's death in the show I mean the Brig was old so he could die of old age and it would hit a soft spot for the Doctor.

4> I think that would be a nice thing to do. Just to acknowledge the Brig's old friendship with the Doctor - probably his oldest friend that we know about.

Steven Moffatt is a big fan of the original episodes, so maybe he will put in a mention. The series being aired this year has already been written and filmed, so I'm not sure when we would hear a mention, other than what I've seen some shows put in at the end of an episode.

I'd almost prefer an "In Memoriam" sort of bit at the end of an episode.
Maybe the Doctor could be late somewhere in the Christmas episode because he had a funeral, or I am sure they could work it into one of the books. Somehow part of me wants them to never actually mention it, and then we can pretend the Brig lives on. Sort of how they've mentioned Harry a few times even though Ian Marter passed away almost 25 years ago.
